How to Price Coaching Packages Without Guessing

September 21, 2026

Pricing is where many new coaches freeze. The number feels like a verdict on your worth, so it changes from one conversation to the next. A simple method removes most of that pressure.

Price the package, not the hour

Hourly pricing rewards time spent, not results reached. A package with a clear scope, such as a fixed number of sessions over a fixed period, lets clients judge the decision as a whole.

Three inputs to check

Divide the monthly income you need by the number of clients you can serve. That gives a realistic floor. The outcome value tells you how far above it you can reasonably go.

Offer two options, not five

Too many tiers create hesitation. One core package and one lighter or deeper alternative is enough. Name each by what it does, not by metal or numbers.

Say the price plainly

State it once, at the end of the conversation, without apologizing or over-explaining. Then stop talking and let the person think. Silence is not a sign of failure.

Review it every quarter

Look at how full your calendar is and what clients say about results. If demand is steady and the work goes well, raise the price for new clients. Keep current clients on their agreed terms.
